Mission Statement

The mission of our organization is to create a compassionate community where everyone has the opportunity for a secure and hopeful future. We are committed to providing housing for individuals and families at risk or currently experiencing homelessness, preventing homelessness among economically disadvantaged youth, ensuring every child and youth in Lubbock has access to food, and fostering a deeper connection between people and their faith in Jesus Christ.

History

2021

Serve Lubbock was started by the staff of First Baptist Church Lubbock to serve the population of the Lubbock Community that is experiencing homelessness. FBC Lubbock donated 10 properties to the Serve Lubbock for purpose to create transitional living spaces.

2023

Serve Lubbock hired their first staff member and began development work. Serve Lubbock began the process of applying for a HOME grant to develop the properties into suitable facilities for transitional living.

2024

Serve Lubbock was awarded $470,000 to renovate the ministry center as a part of a collaborative grant effort by Echo West Texas.
